Even before the international release of Persona 5, the in-house team over at Atlus have been branched off into a new internal company to head the development of a new RPG IP.
Of course, it's early days yet. But we're just remaining ever-hopeful that a new game from the Persona crew will finally make it onto PC at a time when Koei Tecmo's big-name JRPGs are making the jump.
There's no name for title just yet, but news has broken enough to let us know that it will be a new IP not connected to their big Persona or Shin Megami Tensei brands. Katsura Hashino - who previously served as the director of Persona 3, 4 and 5 alongside work on Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocture will helm the director's cap yet again.
If you're still more into strategy titles, the next Total War begins production next year.
We've been given a single piece of artwork to tide us over to the game's reveal in a few days. December 22 will see the release of the newest Weekly Famitsu magazine issue that will likely reveal the name and keyart for the myterious new game; while a livestream handled the following day at around 7:00 AM EST will likely give us our first look of the game in action.
Again, we're just hoping to see this one be Hashino's PC debut. With the Persona games being regarded as some of the best JRPGs in the industry, it's a shame some players have to jump through hoops to get to them.
