It looks like Telltale’s story-driven take on the impossibly popular Minecraft has been quite successful, as they won’t even be taking a break once the current season wraps up, opting to instead build three brand new post-season episodes straight away.
The current season will end with Episode 5: Order Up on March 29 across all platforms, in which hero Jesse and friends explore a mysterious temple that brings them to a new world called Sky City. The good guys take the blame for the bad things happening to Sky City, you’ll have to make tough choices to clear the crew’s good name.
Episodes 6, 7, and 8 will be released in the coming months. No details on plot yet, but the star-studded cast will grow to include Sean Astin, best known as Lord of the Rings’ Samwise Gamgee, along with Jim Meskimen of Parks and Rec fame, and Melissa Hutchison, who brought Walking Dead’s Clementine to life.
Episode 5 is part of Minecraft: Story Mode’s base season, but Episodes 6 and up will be separate purchases.
