If you are having issues with Total War: WARHAMMER crashing to the desktop, read on to see the solution suggest by Sega.
It seems thousands of people trying to play Total War: WARHAMMER have overloaded the servers, causing problems for people who are only trying to play the game. The server load issues have created an error where players are having the game crash on start up.
Sega have released a short-term fix that players can use prior to a patch or something to fix the servers. Here is their message in full:
“We have a server load issue with Total War: WARHAMMER, where the amount of people trying to run the game is making it crash out for some people.
We have 40k+ people currently playing the game in the first hour, about unfortunately a few hundred players having trouble getting in.
In 90% of cases, restarting the game with Steam set to Offline mode will solve the problem. The remaining issues appear to be solved by graphics driver updates and verifying your Steam cache (right click on the game from the Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache…).
We will continue to investigate solutions to the load on the servers, but expect the problem to dissipate as launch day goes on.
If any players have any further trouble getting into the game, they can get help from the support team at https://forums.totalwar.com/categories/support-area.”
At least with this fix you will definitely get to play the game you just purchased.
