Let’s face it: The mass majority of players don’t go into Street Fighter games hoping that the story will be good and interesting. That said, Capcom isn’t going to skimp the minority of players who would like to see the interweaving narratives between the game’s many fighters in Street Fighter V. An expansion to the story will be offered as free DLC to anyone interested.
The announcement was made via a trailer on the Official PlayStation YouTube channel, which can be seen below. It hosts many of players’ favorite world warriors being put up against or beside M. Bison’s latest evil shenanigans. This time, it would appear Bison is going straight for blowing up the world or at least turning out all of its lights.
This is a perfectly acceptable thing as it won’t cost anything, which is especially nice considering Capcom’s propensity to do updated versions of their games and rake in on microtransactions with things like extra costumes. Players who enjoy everything Street Fighter V has to offer in its story don’t have to worry about being left out in the cold or paying to be let in on this content.
Street Fighter V is coming on February 16, 2016 exclusively for PS4 and PC. The story extension will be released sometime in Summer 2016.
