Remember Production Line? It was a small simulation game we touched on back in October last year when things were just getting off the ground. Well, within the blink of an eye, it's now out with an Early Access build.
Being developed back then solely by Cliff Harris - except for art, as he mentions - the game is about nothing more than the production line. What more did you expect there?
With the first developer blog landing on October 5, he commented on how the game wasn't yet in an alpha or beta phase, but was heading for that state quite quickly. Not wrong, he put out another video less than a month later showing his rapid progress. Though we haven't quite kept up to date with things since, we can now see that he's put out a further 13 videos since, with his first sitting on around 5,000 views.
Production Line Was Coming Along Well In Its Second Developer Diary
And while that isn't' a huge viewer count by any stretch of the imagination, that's 5,000 people who would potentially pay the small £7.99 asking price to get some hands-on time with the title and help Cliff with suggestions and feedback. With a potential £40,000 in pre-tax revenue there, it's humbling to see these kinds of games still growing an audience after titles like Prison Architect and Game Dev Tycoon.
If you want to give it a shot for yourself, you'll have to dodge Steam this time around. Not running through its own Early Access program, Production Line in available through its own official website.
