Delivering on their promise to issue near-weekly character spotlights leading up to the release of the all-inclusive demo, we now get to see Carol's return in this new Freedom Planet 2 trailer.
Much like the other returning character, Lilac, featured just after Christmas, Carol is the second character to make a return from the first game. But without having played the first in the series, it's likely difficult to work out what's old and what's new when it comes to the pair's abilities.
Seemingly more focused on agility over Lilac's offensive prowess, Carol can still put up a decent fight with her swift movements and projectile-throwing skills. Using her launchable armaments for more than just damage, you can watch her scale great heights with the weapon and climb walls with ease.

Overall, it's hard to deny the title's Sonic-inspired speed sequences. While it may have taken a little too much from Sega's classic in the past, the upcoming sequel is aiming to differentiate enough to stand on its own two feet as a potential long-running franchise. And with those gorgeous (or mysterious) backdrops, it's hard not to root for its continued success.
Freedom Planet is still penciled in for a mid-2017 release. But a playable demo with access to the full roster of in-game characters is due later this month.
