Coming out of nowhere to announce Smite Tactics during a random streaming sessions in October, Hi-Rez Studios are developing the title at a rapid pace with a closed beta available now.
Though the title was announced in October with a beta test planned for the year's end, we heard little of the title leading up to those months. With alpha testing taking place behind closed doors, the company took its turn-based strategy title to its own Hi-Rez Expo to hype up the audience for the impending closed beta release.
Being a closed beta, Smite Tactics is only available to a selection of particpants for a time. But, unlike most other beta test periods, Hi-Rez won't be limiting access to special invites and waves. Opting to go more the 'Early Access' route, interested players can buy into a 'Founder's Pack' for immediate access - much like Hi-Rez did with the original Smite.
Smite Tactics would probably play quite well on Nvidia's next-gen Shield streamer
Of course, you're getting a little more for your early cash than an unpaid testing position. Those who partake in their offer will get 15 5-card booster packs for use in the game alongside an exclusive card back, icon and some goodies to use within Smite itself - a special loading banner and a skin for Bellona.
Looking to get involved? Well, rather that wait on a beta key, you can grab the Founder's Pack for a respectable 25% off until Sunday. Once Hi-Rez Expo closes its doors for another year, the price goes back up.
