Looking to expand their horizons more than they already have, Hi-Rez Studios is bringing its SMITE universe to mobile devices this year.
With SMITE Tactics entering beta, the company is already hard at work on a third game within the SMITE franchise. Being one the biggest games they've worked on in recent years, it makes sense to see the company expand its popular IP.
SMITE Rivals is that third attempt. A card-based MOBA much like SMITE Tactics, but focused on being a condensed version of the base SMITE experience. Players build a deck for their chosen champion and fill it with cards capable of dishing out minions, spells and structures across the battlefield's 3 lands.

And with the game being cross-compatible with both PC and mobile, player data will transfer between devices whenever you log-in. Unlike certain other mobile titles which are sometimes constrained to the larger screen-size of a tablet, we can already see SMITE Rivals running on both phones and tablets in the trailer below.
It's early days, yet, but Hi-Rez is already teasing more of SMITE Rivals for early this year. Whether that means additional info or availability is still up for debate. Though Early Access is mentioned as a sign-up incentive.
