It's been a busy few weeks for Hi-Res Studios. Announcing a new game at their own public showcase, to releasing another for testing; the group isn't letting up, and they've just thrown a new hat into the SMITE ring with 'The Morrigan: The Phantom Queen'
Arriving with Patch 3.25, The Morrigan comes with the usual roster of skins, skill slots and a passive that, with enough strategic timing, can cause all the enemies around its explosive strike to take more damage as time goes on.
Unlike a game like League of Legends, SMITE introduces a bunch of new character skins in one big push rather than teasing and releasing them in separate shots. The Morrigan debuts with Wood Elf-style attire with the Woodland Rogue set while Terra, Artemis, Ra, Raijin, Ares and a whole host more get a slew of interesting clothing choices this time around with the start of the 'Path of the Phantom Queen' event.
SMITE Rivals Announced As The First Mobile Entry For The MOBA Franchise
Going back to The Morrigan, she'll make use of four abilities playing of her main skill of splitting into familiars. 'Three Aspects' has her summon her array of alternate forms for a quick burst of damage with 'Dark Omen' dooming her target to take more damage. 'Confusion' throws out another phantom to charge to a target location and throw her enemy off-guard leaving her to add a little more tension by summoning a clone of a god currently on the field.
The full patch notes a likely a lengthy read; so anyone in need of them will find them conveniently placed on the official SMITE boards. For those with questions (or those looking for the game download), Steam seems to have a fairly active community right now.
