We're a week into the release of Sniper Elite 4, and we can bet a lot of men have been shot between the legs. If you want to keep up the momentum, make sure to keep an eye out for the new goods arriving in the game's first update.
You should already have been prompted to install the patch through Steam, but for those who have yet to get home and/or boot up the server over the last few days, you can expect new characters, weapons and a performance patch that doesn't delve too deep into the details.
Roza Petrovna of the Red Army 25th Rifle Division is an elite Russian sniper who's only one of the three characters making their way to the game. There's a man decked out in a ghillie suit and a "highly-trained British Commando", too. Three flavours of presumably quiet killing machines. In terms of weapons, there's the silent Carbine and a gun that's one weapon short of being a revolutionary display connection for its time - the HDM Semi-automatic pistol. And a grease gun; it's not quite what you think.

Moving onto strictly PC-centric news, however, comes the game's first major performance patch. Patch 1.1.2, as they're calling it, adds a full-screen borderless option to the game's launcher and tweaks how Binaural Simulation works within the audio settings to ease up on the stuttering issues it presented to some processors. There's disconnection and crash fixes, localisation improvements and the tick-boxes within multiplayer browsers should be back in working order.
The performance patch, as expected, comes in at no extra cost. But for those wanting the character+weapon pack, expect to shell out a little extra. As it's the game's first piece of DLC, however, Season Pass holders will have the content unlocked immediately. If you've been Stalin on your purchase, maybe now's a better time to delve in.
