Just as expected, the first expansion of the year to Blizzard's Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will take us into the depths of the Un'Goro Crater.
Originally letting slip through the lips of one of its voice actors, it comes as no surprise that players will soon be taking a trip to the pre-historic jungle of one of Warcraft's more standard Jungle regions.
Releasing sometime in April, players can already prepare for the adventure by slotting themselves in for a 50-pack deal for $49.99. Not only will this grant them a tonne of expansion's newest cards, but will net them a pretty snazzy looking cardback to show of their forward-thinking level of commitment.
Blizzard Will Begin Phasing Out Windows XP/Vista By The End Of The Year
The expansion itself isn't without its gimmicks, however, meaning there's a good chance some of the cards you'll unearth through that 50-pack deal will have the potentially to really mix up the current meta. Especially with it signalling the switch to the Year of the Mammoth - rendering numerous Year 1 expansions obsolete. First up are some of the new Minion types you can summon to the field. Brandishing the 'Adapt' skill. Being a 'Battlecry' effect, you'll be prompted to choose one skill over several others for the beast to wield to react to the current game's scenario. Other new cards include Legendary 'Quests' that, when played, will outline a certain goal to achieve throughout the given match to activate its effect. These in particular will always be present in your starting hand.
It's expected that each hero class will be given their own Quest card usually leading to character-specific buffs/enhancements once their criteria is fulfilled. The first example being a Priest quest that, when completed, awards a Minion that instantly sets Hero health to 40. There will be 135 cards added to the game whenever the Journey to Un'Goro expansion land.
