Ark: Survival Ascended’s remastered worlds may look prettier rendered in Unreal Engine 5 but they’re just as ruthless as ever. Regardless if you’re just now starting out or have played the series in the past, having console commands and cheats on hand can help out when you find yourself in a sticky situation.
Ark: Survival Ascended’s console commands and cheats offer greater control over your surroundings, getting rid of pesky dinos, allowing you to conjure up stunning sunsets, and more with only a few key presses. Useful both when you want to learn the game and simply have some fun without worrying too much about getting eaten, we explain how to use them below.
Ark: Survival Ascended Console Commands and Cheats
To bring up the in-game console, you’ll first need to visit Ark: Survival Ascended settings menu. Under the advanced tab, make sure that Console Access is set to On. Don’t forget to save your settings.
This enables a Console Command button in the lower left corner of the screen, which when clicked on brings up the actual console.
Alternatively, you may be able to bring the console up with the good old tilde (`) key, although the former seems to be more reliable.
Your ability to use it may be tied to admin privileges since, in a sense, it does give you access to what are essentially Ark: Survival Ascended cheats.
Some of the Ark: Survival Ascended console commands require adding the phrase cheat before them but should, nonetheless, help you have a better time exploring the title’s rebuilt worlds.
Remember to remove the brackets when inputting commands followed by numbers or other symbols.
- settimeofday (insert time) - Sets time of day to specified time
- DestroyWildDinos - Destroys wild dinos
- gcm - Enables creation mode
- r.VolumetricCloud (number) - Sets volumetric clouds quality (0 is lowest)
- r.ShadowQuality (number) - Sets shadow quality (0 is lowest)
- sg.FoliageQuality (number) - Sets foliage quality (0 is lowest)
- r.MaterialQualityLevel (number) - Sets material quality (0 is lowest)
Another alternative that admins have, at least in the early days of early access, is a separate menu that enables Ark: Survival Ascended cheats and which can be accessed by pressing the Shift + . (dot/period) keys.
This menu lets you spawn a variety of creatures and items by simply clicking on their respective categories and names, much quicker than typing them in the console.
These helpful Ark: Survival Ascended console commands and cheats should, hopefully, see you easily overcoming at least some hurdles the game throws at you.
