Dusk is out now, and it's a glorious homage - and successor - to classic FPSs such as Quake, Blood, and Heretic. Look out for our review soon, and it could be a Game of the Year contender too. Like those classics it's absolutely packed with hidden secrets, including 3 Dusk secret levels.
But where are the secret levels in Dusk? How do you find them, and how do you access them? They're quite well hidden, and aren't just a simple door. Let us show you how to find the secret levels in Dusk!
Dusk Secret Levels - Episode 1 Secret Level
The first Dusk secret level can be found on Episode 1 Map 2 - Down On The Farm. To the right of the farmhouse, and the map start, there is a corn maze. Ignore it for now, but that is where the entrance to the secret is found. Head through the maze, and then through the woods, to a metal shack - obviously killing all enemies along the way. You'll need to go in here to get the red key, anyway.
Just to the right of the key, behind some tyres, there's a button. Push it. The message "A Secret Door Opens" should pop up. Now, return to the cornfield. You'll need to get on top of the cornfield - try picking something up, like a barrel, jumping on it, then on top of the cornfield. Head to the very edge - far on the left, if you're approaching from the red key area. You'll spot a gap in the cornfield, and a cover you can open. Head down it, and you'll find the entrance to the Dusk Episode 1 secret level - The Dim Slough.
Dusk Secret Levels - Episode 2 Secret Level
The second Dusk secret level can be found on Episode 2 Map 4 - The Infernal Machine. Head to the area with a staircase and a metal fence enclosing the centre. Progress through the level until you can open the door here that leads to a very long drop (and a ladder to get back up again). Right at the bottom of this drop there's a crack in the floor. Blow it up and you'll find one secret, and the entrance to the secret level inside a pipe. But it's not open yet.
Now, keep progressing through the level until you find the rather trippy, colourful room above with a door at the end, which you can see in the picture above. There's a crack in the wall here too. Blow it up, head in, take care of the enemies, and press the button at the end. Now, head back to the first secret, head in the pipe, and you'll be able to reach the Dusk Episode 2 secret level - The Foundry!
Dusk Secret Levels - Episode 3 Secret Level
The final Dusk secret level can be found in Episode 3 Map 4 - Crypt of the Flesh. You can find the entrance very quickly, you just won't be able to access it until you finish. It's dark, but once you get the yellow key head to the room next to the starting area. Immediately on your left there's an alcove with some junk and rocks in it, but behind those things is a button. This button opens the back of the room, revealing a red secret area - and a passage with a red key door.
Progress through the level until you find the red key, then when you're ready to leave, head back to the start and this door. Open it, and you'll find... a bathroom. The message, um, on the wall reads "Flush Away Your Sins." This isn't obvious, but you can certainly flush the toilet. Now, try standing in the toilet and flushing. You flush yourself away to the Dusk Episode 3 secret level - The Ratacombs!
