Hogwarts Legacy’s The Daedalian Keys side quest can be acquired early on in your adventure, but unlike some of its counterparts, it isn’t a quick task to complete. This quest requires you to embark on a fairly lengthy pursuit around Hogwarts in search of the locations of multiple flying keys.
To initiate the side quest, seek out Nellie Oggspire, a Gryffindor student located near the wyvern statue in the Transfiguration Courtyard. You can easily spot her as she frequently expresses her excitement about the keys being back every time you pass by.
Hogwarts Legacy The Daedalian Keys Locations
Expressing your interest in finding the Daedalian Keys locations will have Nellie reveal that recovering each of them leads to a locked cabinet.
Then, you’ll need to head to the Astronomy Wing, in order to find the first one. Your compass guides you, but you can also fast travel to the Astronomy Tower Floo Flame and make things quicker. From the Floo Flame, head up the wooden set of stairs and you’ll soon spot the Daedalian Key.
It’ll quickly fly away, so head back down, past the floo flame, and into the room with the two semi-circular tables. On the left, you’ll notice the Daedalian Key hovering in front of a peculiar House Cabinet with a golden keyhole in its center.
Approach it and press F. This zooms the camera in on the cabinet and starts a minigame that requires you to slap the key at the right time by pressing the Spacebar.
It moves around quite a bit and you’ll want to hit it just as it flies close to the keyhole itself. As soon as you time things right, the cabinet opens, rewarding you with a House Token.
You’re then prompted to return to Nellie, who tells you that the token open House Chests, which are found in each of the four houses’ common rooms.
The next step on Hogwarts Legacy’s The Daedalian Keys side quest involves heading back to your house’s common room and interacting with the house chest there.
The Ravenclaw House Chest, for example, is just to the left of the Ravenclaw Common Room Floo Flame, making it particularly easy to spot.
Attempting to open it reveals that you will, in fact, have to get 15 other House Tokens if you plan on seeing what’s inside. Their locations are spread across Hogwarts and, as opposed to the first one, your compass won’t guide you to each of them.
With the first one found during the first stage of the quest, here are the remaining Daedalian Keys locations we’ve found so far in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 2
You’ll spot this one as you take the stairs down from the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom Floo Flame. Approach it, then follow it back up, make a left past the Floo Flame, and you’ll spot the key hovering next to the cabinet on the right.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 3
Found in the library. Entering from the opposite side of the spiral staircases, head to the middle of the room, and look to the left. You’ll spot the key flying near bookcases. Approach it and it will take you behind the spiral staircase on the right, where you can find its House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 4
You can spot this one on your right as you exit the Greenhouses. Approach it, then follow it up the stairs right next to it, down the set of stairs on the other side of the room, and to the right, where you’ll find its House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 5
Fast travel to the Central Hall Floo Flame and go up the large set of stairs. Make a left, continue going up until you see the large wooden door, then make a right. Go behind the stairs on your right and you’ll find the Daedalian Key location. Follow it back the way you came and look for the House Cabinet on your right, shortly after taking the stairs down again.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 6
Fast travel to the Potions Class Floo Flame, go through the wooden door, and you should spot the Daedalian Key on the left, near some stacked cauldrons. It will go down the nearby stairs, so follow it and go forward to find this rather easy-to-spot House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 7
As you exit from the map chamber, during the Jackdaw’s Rest main quest, you arrive back at Hogwarts. Immediately head down the stairs on your left, then go forward to find the Daedalian Key location in the hallway. Turn around and follow it back, make a left, and you’ll find the cabinet around the corner.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 8
After getting the House Token from the key above, return to the hallway where you originally found it. Walk to its end and make a left. In front of you, you’ll spot a statue of a sleeping dragon with the eight Daedalian Key flying near it. Take the stairs on the left, make a right, and you’ll find the House Cabinet right in front of you.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 9
From the House Cabinet above, turn around, make a right, go up the stairs, and make another right, through the door. Go up the stairs, make a left, and as you ascend next flight of stairs, you’ll spot the ninth Daedalian Key flying in a large room. Approach it and keep climbing the stairs until you reach the top. On your left, you’ll find the House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 10
Found in the Great Hall. As you enter through the large wooden doors, head up the stairs that lead you to where Garreth Weasely waits for you during the ‘Dissending’ for Sweets side quest. You’ll soon spot the tenth key. Follow it back down and, as you’re facing the large doors, look to the right for the House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 11
Found in the Faculty Tower. It’s especially easy to spot during The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament main quest, as it waits at the top of the first set of stairs after you unlock the door using Alohomora. Since you’re trespassing, you’ll have to look out for patrols and use a disillusionment charm.
This may not apply if you go there at a different time of day. After you approach the Daedalian Key at the top of the stairs, it will climb back down the way you came and make a right immediately after reaching the bottom of the stairs, revealing its House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 12
Waiting in the courtyard outside the Great Hall. From the Great Hall Floo Flame, head through the double doors on the right. Stick to the right side and make another right through the first archway. The Daedalian Key location should be plain sight.
Follow it down the stairs, make a left, and keep following the circular path until you see a door. Rather than opening it, look for the House Cabinet to its right.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 13
This Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key flies near the Grand Staircase. To find it, head to the Grand Staircase Floo Flame and go up the staircase until you spot the key. Since it’s right in your way, it should be easy enough to spot, but Revelio helps. Once you approach it, head back down the way you came and, before reachign the Floo Flame again, look on your right for the House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 14
Fast travel to The Great Hall Floo Flame and look to your left. You’ll see the key flying in the area where students dine. Approach it, then follow it to the right and up the stairs to reach its House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 15
Found in the higher levels of the Faculty Tower, which you explore during The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament main quest. The key waits in the corridor leading to the Clock Tower. Approach it, then head back to the room you came from to reach its House Cabinet.
Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key 16
Reaching the final Daedalian Key requires using Alohomora. Head to the Clock Tower Courtyard Floo Flame. Go forward and unlock the door on the left. Head up the stairs and, when you reach the top, you’ll spot the key. Approach it, head up another level, and you’ll reach the House Cabinet.
With all the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Key locations found and house tokens in your possession, head back to your house’s common room and open the chest.
As a reward for your efforts, you’ll receive a Relic House Uniform whose look depends on the house your character belongs to. The item is an appearance, which you can apply to any of your equipped cloaks and robes. Lastly, return to Nellie Oggspire to complete the quest.
