Have you ever wondered what the Bermuda Triangle is and what it does in Civilization 6? Although Civilization 6 is about a decade old, there are still many things to discover in this game, and the rare Bermuda Triangle phenomenon is no exception.
First added in the Maya & Gran Colombia Pack, this Natural Wonder is mysterious in many ways. Perhaps you’re wondering what would happen if you encountered a Bermuda Triangle in the game? And how does it work? If you’re curious and want to know more about it, here’s everything you need to know about the Bermuda Triangle in Civilization 6.
How the Bermuda Triangle Works in Civ 6
In Civilization 6, the Bermuda Triangle is a three-tile passage Natural Wonder that any civilization can discover. It provides a +5 Science bonus for adjacent tiles, making it the perfect anchor for a science-focused city, as it will give the city an extra edge in research and development.
When discovered, any naval units or embarked units can be sent to enter the Bermuda Triangle. Doing so will give them the “Mysterious Currents” ability, granting them +1 Movement. This makes it particularly useful for exploring the world and scouting potential resource locations.
Out of all the wonders in this game, the Bermuda Triangle is perhaps the most interesting one. How so? Well, the way it works is somewhat similar to a white hole.
When you send naval or embarked units there, they will be teleported to an ocean tile on the other side of the world. This interesting feature may be useful if you’re looking to outflank your enemies or establish a quick invasion.
That sums up everything you need to know about the Bermuda Triangle. Although the Bermuda Triangle is a rare occurrence that spawns only on Ocean tiles, at some point, you may be lucky enough to encounter one that spawns close to a coast. When this happens, you can take advantage of the huge Science yield for your city. With the right strategy, the Bermuda Triangle can be a powerful tool to help any civilization expand and reach victory.
