How to Dock Your Ship in Starfield
In Starfield, to successfully dock your ship, ensure you are within a distance of 500 meters from the desired docking point. When you’re in range, direct your reticle towards the docking platform. Then, hit “E” on your keyboard or “A” on your controller to set your docking target.
Upon obtaining docking clearance, a screen prompt will appear offering options to either dock or hail. To proceed with docking, simply press “R” on your keyboard or “X” on the controller, guiding your ship to its chosen location.</b>
A short cutscene showing your ship docking will play, and you can exit your ship and explore the structure or space station you’re in afterward. Aside from that, you can also dock on enemy ships in the game, although this will require you to put up a fight at first.
As you probably have guessed, you won’t be able to fly straight to a hostile enemy ship and dock your ship there without consequences. Disabling their engines should be your top priority, as this is the only way to make your way to their ship.
While flying, lock onto their engine and shoot their ship’s thrusters until you see a red symbol beside the ship’s health bar. Once you’ve damaged their ship enough, you can repeat the same steps as above to dock your ship. Remember to equip yourself with decent weapons and items and be prepared for what will happen when you set foot on their ship!
