The first thing you want to do as soon as you play Baldur’s Gate 3 is most likely looting and equipping the best weapons and armor for your characters. Even though you’ll be socializing a lot in the game, remember that this is still a strategic RPG adventure involving fighting dangerous bosses on your journey, making your equipment extremely essential.
However, doing so without the Mithral Ore is easier said than done. The Mitral Ore is one of the materials needed to craft high-quality equipment at the Adamantine Forge, and it’s only available in limited quantities, making it one of the rarest items in the game. Read on if you want to gather Mithral Ore quickly in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Gather Mithral Ore Quickly in BG3
In the game, the fastest way to get Mithral Ore is to mine it in the Grymforge area in the Underdark. The first location of the Mithral Ore can be reached by heading south of the Ancient Forge, then jumping over a river of lava after going down a cliff near the X: -644 Y: 257 coordinate.
You can also visit another location to obtain the Mithral Ore. After jumping over the gap, you can take a left off the staircase, which will lead you to the forge itself, near the X:-557 Y: 278 coordinate.
It’s easy to spot the Mithral Ore, as it appears as large boulders with traces of light blue veins across its surface. Due to its sturdy exterior, the ore is immune to most damage types. The only way you can break it open quickly is by dealing bludgeoning damage from blunt weapons and using characters with high strength, like Lae’zel and Karlach.
Once you’ve switched your character, you can have them break the ore open and loot a small chunk of Mithral on the ground. Now that you have this material with you, go ahead and use it at the Adamantine Forge to craft your desired equipment. Enjoy your new gear!
