Resident Evil 2 Remake is out on January 25, and fans are excited to play through one of the most popular games in the series from a new third-person camera perspective in the style of Resident Evil 4. However, is there a Resident Evil 2 Remake Fixed Camera mode too?
There are almost certainly going to be other unlockable modes when the game comes out, so it's possible there could be a Fixed Camera mode to make Resident Evil 2 Remake play more like the original game - or the Resident Evil 1 Remake, which updated the graphics, design and controls, but kept the fixed cameras. Will that be in the final game, as an option or mode? Or, is there a mod that'll do it?
Is there a Resident Evil 2 Remake Fixed Camera Mode?
Resident Evil 2 Remake is not yet released, so in all honesty there could be a fixed-camera perspective mode when it comes out, perhaps as an unlock when you finish the game. The game's key features, when talking about the new camera perspective, then mentions "the original gameplay modes from the 1998 release" so take of that what you will.
On the other hand, it would take a lot of effort to make the game run that way, and to get the new aiming to work in a fixed camera perspective for just a simple unlockable game mode might be too daunting. We simply don't know at this time.
However, if there isn't a fixed camera mode unlockable in the Resident Evil 2 Remake, we're sure that PC modders will find a way to implement it. In fact there's already one up and running (see video below) using the PC demo, and it looks rather awesome. No idea when that will be available, so hopefully Capcom will make their own.
