Download Many Items

If you use ONE mod that gives you new items, everything works fine. But what happens if you use more than one? Installation can get pretty cumbersome in that case. So I've made a mod menu that lets you pick and choose which items you want. All of my mod items AND J_Slash's "Stuff" items are available. (It doesn't include Ifrit's scabbards or the Doppler's Essence potions, since I don't have permission to do this with Ifrit's mods.) Since the easiest way to give you lots of different choices is through dialogue, when you read the scroll, a character labeled "Corylea" will pop up. Click on her, and she'll ask you what you want. You can choose as many or as few mod items as you want from the list she gives you. She'll also heal you and remove your toxicity, if you ask nicely. When you're finished requesting items, she'll teleport out again. Note that texture mods and dialogue mods don't give the player an item, so they mostly don't conflict with each other and are not difficult to install. Hence, they are not part of this mod. Mods included in this mod: 1. J_Slash's "Stuff That Makes Geralt's Life Easier" mod 2. Genie Wish Mod 3. Book of All Knowledge 4. No Drowners in the Swamp Cemetery (the Chapter 5 swamp) 5. Teleportation Scrolls (to teleport between the Temple Quarter and the Swamp Forest during Chapter 2) 6. Stop the Rain scroll 7. Shopkeeper mod (choose Convenient or Cheating version) 8. Stuck Sword Oil Remover 9. Radovid Door Fix (for bugged games only) 10. Healing and removal of any toxicity If you use only a few of those mods, no problem -- you aren't given all of the items; instead, you're given a dialogue where you get to pick which items you want. Thanks to J_Slash for his gracious permission to incorporate his items into this mod. I don't have permission to include Ifrit's Scabbards or Difficulty Potions, so if you want those things, they'll still need to be installed separately. Mods of mine that aren't included here because they don't give the player items: 1. Fair Kalkstein mod 2. Han Gives Han, not berbercane 3. No-Blur Blizzard mod 4. Plentiful Herbs 5. Sex Takes Time 6. Golder Geralt Eyes 7. Purple Triss Outfit 8. Grass-Green Shani Outfit 9. Colorful Dresses for Little Girls 10. Silly Drowners 11. Bugfix for the Vizima Confidential Problem Mods of mine that aren't included here because their scope is much larger than simply giving the player items: 1. Wolf Companion mod 2. Play as a Dark Elf Woman mod VERSIONS: 1.2 -- added the Shopkeeper mod, -- updated the Genie mod to the latest version (which has Raven's Armor) -- updated the Book of All Knowledge to the latest version (which prevents the books from giving you a huge number of messages on the screen when you get the huge number of journal entries). -- Changed the Many Items scroll to a purple quest item, rather than a white regular item, to make it easier to find and to store. 1.1 -- added the items from J_Slash's "Stuff That Makes Geralt's Life Easier" mod -- added the option to have Corylea heal you and reduce your toxicity -- added a "give me all of them" option for heavy mod users so that you don't have to request each item individually 1.0 initial release --> The def_arealoaded.nsc script is from J_Slash, and custom_script is my adaptation of his original script, so full credit to J_Slash for both of those. INSTALLATION: Download the mod. Unzip it, which will give you this README and a folder, zz_Many_Items. Put the zz_Many_Items folder into your The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data folder. Notice that the folder for the mod does NOT go into the Witcher folder where your saved games are; it goes in the Witcher folder where the game data is. This is The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data. INSTALLATION HELP FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING THEIR DATA FOLDER: If you have trouble finding your Data folder (Yes, I swear, you DO have one!), then go to the shortcut that you use to start the game, right-click on it, and scroll down to Properties, then click on that. The Properties box that pops up will have a path to your launcher.exe or witcher.exe file in a box labelled Target. Make note of that path! The path to launcher.exe will lead you to your The Witcher Enhanced Edition folder, which will have four subfolders: Data, Launcher, Register, and System. The path to witcher.exe will lead you to your The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System folder. Just go up one level, and you'll be in your The Witcher Enhanced Edition folder, where you'll see those four subfolders: Data, Launcher, Register, and System. Note: Like all my mods, this is for The Witcher; it's not for The Witcher 2. If you have questions or comments, you can leave them in the thread for this mod at the official Witcher forum or at the Witcher Nexus, or you can send e-mail to medicalproblemsquiz@gmail.com This mod will conflict with other mods that use the def_arealoaded.ncs and custom_script.ncs scripts. These mods include the Difficulty Potions mod, the Wolf Companion mod, and several others. BUT, there IS a way to get these mods to work together; see below. HOW TO MAKE THE MANY ITEMS MOD WORK WITH OTHER MODS THAT USE THE DEF_AREALOADED SCRIPT (Note that this procedure only needs to be used for mods that use that script; simple texture mods, for example, don't use that script, and you don't need to do anything special to get them to work with your other mods. If you don't know whether or not a mod uses that script, then look at the files in the mod -- do you see def_arealoaded.ncs among them?) 1. Install just ONE of the mods (not the Wolf Companion, Dryad Healer or Dark Elf mods, if you use one of those; install one of the mods that adds an item to your inventory). 2. Start the game, and wait until Geralt has been given the item(s). Check your inventory to make sure your new items have been added, since you don't always get the "Received item X" text on the screen. (If the item goes in your quest item inventory, remember that that inventory scrolls back and forth. If the item does not go in your quest inventory but goes in your regular inventory, before you add the mod, you'll need to make sure that there's a space in your inventory for it.) 3. Save and exit the game. 4. Remove custom_script.ncs from the folder containing the mod you just installed. (This is okay because you already have the item(s) from that mod, and it's a different script that adds functionality to the items; all custom_script does is give the items to Geralt.) 5. Install ONE other mod. (Everything that's in your The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data folder is loaded when the game begins. If you've been using an Override folder to make it easy to keep track of your mods, please note that putting some mods in Override and some mods in folders of their own in the The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data folder does NOT keep them from conflicting.) 6. Load the game that already contains the items that you installed before, wait a few seconds, and you should get the new item(s) added. Check your inventory to make sure your new items have been added, since you don't always get the "Received item X" text on the screen. (If the item goes in your quest item inventory, remember that that inventory scrolls back and forth. If the item does not go in your quest inventory but goes in your regular inventory, before you add the mod, you'll need to make sure that there's a space in your inventory for it.) 7. Save and exit the game. 8. Repeat steps 4 - 7 for every mod you want to use that uses the def_arealoaded.ncs script. Keep doing this until you have everything you want -- the difficulty potions, the Doppler's Essence potions, whatever you want. If you use the Wolf Companion, Dryad Healer, or Dark Elf mod, it should be the very last mod you add. Since those creatures get "added" frequently, they need to have their custom_script working all the time, whereas most items are only added once, so the custom_script for those items can be dispensed with once Geralt has the difficulty potions, the Doppler's Essence potions, the scabbards, and so forth. (The Wolf Companion, Dryad Healer, and Dark Elf mods do NOT work together, so if you want one of those, you'll have to choose only one.)
