Sony announced over the weekend that Japanese gamers will be able to purchase PlayStation 3 “Platinum” titles soon, with games such as Folklore, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Resistance Fall of Man being included in the launch list.
Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz today, a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson said: “We have introduced a Platinum range of best-selling titles for all of our platforms to date, and it is likely that we will do so in the future for PS3. However, no decisions have yet been made on timing or line-up.”
The Platinum brand originally started with the PlayStation with classic titles such as Medieval, Doom and Tomb raider all being offered for a cheaper price. Sony then continued this with the PS2 and now the PS3 gets the Platinum treatment.
PS3 games under the Platinum range will likely retail for £20.
Stay tuned for some box art.
