Hardcore shooter fans rejoice! The latest game in the classic Raiden series has been confirmed for release on the Xbox 360. Although initially announced over a year ago, details were scarce and the game went dark for a while. Now developer Moss has revealed Raiden IV is due for a Japanese 360 release on September 11th.
The top-down shoot-em-up is set to feature a faithful port of the arcade game as well as an exclusive Xbox 360 mode which is apparently more accessible to the home gamer (and will feature two brand new levels). Moss have also added two interesting new features: a replay function allows you to rewatch your favorite game moments, and an in World Ranking mode that allows you to upload your replays to see how you compare to the world’s best players.
US publisher UFO Interactive has unofficially expressed an interest in an American release, but as yet nothing is confirmed.
