Early next year Sega at least ”think” they’ll be ready to start announcing game titles for Xbox 360’s Project Natal and Sony’s motion Wand for PS3. It’s ”pretty new” tech of course.
Especially Natal points out Sega boss Mike Hayes. They’ve ”got to get to grips” with this new stuff, it’s a land of ”bunsen burners and test tubes” right now. Both techs are due 2010.
”We’d like to think that in early 2010 we’ll be making announcements about both of those platforms,” said Sega West President Mike Hayes, speaking with IndustryGamers.
”We have our ideas and we know what we want to do, but the technology is pretty new, particularly with Natal, so we’ve got to get to grips with the technology and see if it can do what we want it do,” he went on. ”I kind of think of it as the land of bunsen burners and test tubes.”
Sega are excited by all this motion technology, and are keen to capitalize on it fast. Take-Two recently revealed to have developer kits for both Natal and Sony’s Wand ”embedded” in nearly all of their studios now. Could we see something with the next Grand Theft Auto?
