Co-founder and CEO of Harmonix, Alex Rigopolous, has said the team won’t be releasing the third generation of the game this year.
Instead their focus will be on the Beatles game coming this holiday for ‘09. As to whether Rock Band 3 will include a keyboard peripheral, Rigopolous replied with a ”maybe.”
”We’ve actually made a choice to break out of the annual release cycle for Rock Band this year,” reports CrispyGamer.
This is ”partly because the annual cycle places limits on the choices you can make as a developer. We’re trying to take a long term view,” he added. Publisher EA ”know how important this series is and they’re willing to give it the time it needs.”
Perhaps that extra time is to hammer out that rumoured keyboard addition then? ”The only answer I can give you to that question right now is maybe.” Dang.
