Two of these will be free, but only available to those who purchase a brand new copy of the game on PC, PS3 or Xbox 360, which BioWare hopes will help beat piracy. The paid DLC is called Warden’s Keep, but will be available for free to those that purchase the Deluxe Edition. Else it will cost you 560 MS Points, and $7 on PC. PS3 owners will also pay $7, but will have to wait until late November before they can play.
Warden’s Keep contains a dungeon-based supernatural storyline quest, set in an ancient haunted fortress, a variety of items, six new abilities, and a base where players can trade with merchants.
For those that purchase the game second hand, The Stone Prisoner DLC will cost $15 or 1200 MS Points, but adds a stone golem to the party from the start of the game, unlocking a bunch of story options.
The final DLC is called Blood Armour, which is also available for free to those that purchase the game new, but will not be free if you own a second hand copy. It adds an item that gives upgraded protection from swords and missiles, but will also be wearable in Mass Effect 2 when the game launches early next year.
Will the free DLC persuade you to purchase a new copy of Dragon Age: Origins?
