To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pac-Man series Namco Bandai has announced a new game will be arriving in 2010.
Hirokazu Yasuhara, Sonic The Hedgehog co-creator, will be at the helm of the project which is being developed in their North American studio. Its release platforms are unknown for now.
”We are in the midst of making Pac-Man come back because his 30th anniversary is in 2010 actually,” said Namco Bandai’s Makoto Iwai. ”As a group, we feel like we should do something to make him come back.”
Pac-Man Championship Edition was released over XBLA back in 2007 and was created by the game’s original creator Toru Iwatani as a remake of the arcade cult classic. It’s a shame he isn’t a part of the 30th anniversary project.
