Brutal Legend developer Double Fine has unveiled something awesome, the online component to the heavy metal action game is, in fact, bursting with RTS.
Assuming the role of Eddie Riggs, Doviculus and Drowning Doom you will lead your band to victory. Build your stage, gather your fans and charge into battle across seven maps in total.
You don’t collect resources but fans, from geysers, and these are won by performing a mini-game in the style of Guitar Hero. The leaders can use their sprouting wings to get them around the maps quicker, and link in with units for special attacks.
This is all to keep your bands stage safe and destroy your rivals, but these stages can’t defend themselves but will pack some serious hurt if a leader garrisons them. Light-rig lasers, speaker blasts and dry-ice fog will help keep rivals at bay. Fans will heal your stage.
Brutal Legend is being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 this October 16th.
