Microsoft has pulled the outrageously early and cheap Gears of War 2 All Fronts DLC, but thanks to keen corporate eyes you now have to wait and pay full price!
‘All Fronts Collection Game Add-on’ accidentally fell onto Xbox Live for a mere 800 Microsoft Points, proving ”a lucky treat” for gamers with ”quick reflexes!” It got pulled fast; oh joy.
Fear not, you can now wait till July 28th and be gouged a fuller 1600 Microsoft points when All Fronts releases, along with 1200 Microsoft Points for the Dark Corners DLC too.
”Earlier this morning, the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection Game Add-on was briefly made available on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points,” said Microsoft at the time, reports Joystiq.
”The content has since been removed and will launch on Tuesday, July 28th worldwide as planned, together with the Dark Corners Game Add-on. Pricing will remain as originally intended (1600 and 1200 Microsoft Points for All Fronts Collection and Dark Corners, respectively).”
”The small, lucky group of Xbox Live members who were able to download the content during the short window it was available will be able to retain the content for the price at which it was purchased as well as keep all related Achievements. There won’t be any penalties for those who purchased this content early. Think of it as a lucky treat for those with quick reflexes!” …and a major shafting to those without such superhuman abilities…
Dark Corners adds seven new multiplayer maps and a new campaign called ‘Road to Ruin’, whereas All Fronts includes the Dark Corners content and the existing Flashback, Combustible and Snowblind map packs. See the trailer below for what’s coming.
