The development studio Ruffian Games is officially open for business and is already hard working on a project for a major publishing house.
Studio head Gaz Liddon has said he’s thrilled to be working with the ”best the industry has to offer.” Talent from Crackdown, Project Gotham Racing, Fable 2 and GTA make up the team.
”Creative and talented people are the lifeblood of any studio and I am so excited to be working with the best the industry has to offer,” said Ruffian’s Liddon. ”It simply isn’t possible for any studio to have a better start than this.”
The developers focus will be on online and multiplayer gaming they say. It was previously rumoured that Ruffian were landing a deal with Microsoft to create Crackdown 2, something franchise creator Realtime Worlds has denied.
”We want to provide an online experience rivalling any other through co-operative and competitive multiplayer gaming,” said creative director Billy Thompson.
”Online play is the future of gaming and we’re incredibly excited about where that is going to take us.” A breath of fresh air given all the layoffs and studio closures as of late - good luck Ruffian!
