According to Gamasutra sources several employees have been let go at EA Tiburon, creator of many EA Sports titles like Madden.
The studio is based in Florida and is now another team to fall prey to cost-cutting if true. EA have already announced plans to reduce their global workforce by 10%, which is around a thousand people.
”Gamasutra sources have indicated that multiple staffers have been let go at EA Tiburon, home of the Madden football game series and a number of other EA Sports titles, as well as other titles for separate EA divisions,” reports Gamasutra.
Recently Mythic has been hit with their entire playtest group booted, half their QA department along with hits to customer service manpower.
Pandemic Brisbane was released from EA’s control too, with the future of their L.A. based studio uncertain especially now with the generally poor reception of The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Black Box and Blueprint have already been closed by the publishing giant.
