Lord of the Rings Online developer Turbine has revealed they’ve got console plans, with the unannounced MMO heading to the next-gen home systems in 2011 sometime.
So far the games development has cost them $20 million and will be a free-to-play affair. The console MMO has been hard to implement but some are on their way, like SOE’s The Agency.
Cryptic Studios, developer of Champions Online, have previously said their console MMO version is ”ready to go” but Microsoft have been dragging their feet deciding policies. So far only MMOs Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe have been made available on consoles.
Sony are themselves bringing a console MMO to market with The Agency, which will also be launching for the PC in a free-to-play model. Would you console MMO, videogamer?
