Despite the recent announcement from publisher Kalypso that they have the ”majority of licenses and assets” from Ascaron, things continue for Sacred 2.
Anca Adelina Finta of Ascaron confirmed the add-on ”is not affected by anything” and development continues, adding she wishes Kalypso and the others ”good luck” with the IPs.
”Studio 2 (subsidiary company of Ascaron) has the licence for Sacred 2 and the devs will continue working at the Addon as they did before,” she posted on company forums.
”Kalypso and the other devs will do something different with the old licences they bought. I really wish them good luck with that, they deserve it.” DarkStar One, The Patrician, Port Royale and On the Ball were some of the licenses bought the by the German publisher.
”In a nutshell, the Addon is not affected by anything and will come as planned,” she clarified. Word on Sacred 3, which was being worked on, is yet to have its fate revealed.
