Bethesda’s Jeff Gardiner has spilled some rustic beans on the upcoming DLC, Point Lookout. It adds ”lots of new” critters and gear, nothing gameplay substantive.
But Point Lookout Swamp ”is substantive” to explore, just don’t expect any more character levels or anything. Future DLC decisions were ”always ‘up in the air’”; it arrives June 23rd.
”The player will ultimately have to choose sides, a choice that isn’t black and white,” hinted Gardiner, lead producer.
It won’t have substantive value ”…in terms of new gameplay features such as additional levels.” Broken Steel raised the level cap to the game and added more perks.
”There are however lots of new creatures, items, armor, weapons and a whole new area to explore. The Point Lookout Swamp is substantive and should engross players for several hours even if they ignore the quest line,” he tells Platform Nation.
”Perks for both DLC are quest related and aren’t being revealed. There are also four new achievements for both Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.”
Gardiner gives us an estimate of how long we can expect to squeeze Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta for. ”Each of them should take about three to five hours to complete the main quest at a standard pace,” he said.
Point Lookout is being released on XBLA and PC this June 23rd, with an unspecified date for PS3.
