Wolfenstein from developer Raven has been pulled from the German market for including the banned Nazi symbol, which was accidentally missed when being localized.
Developer Raven and Endrant have already scaled back their workforces, and did so after Wolfenstein’s development was completed. A reworked version could take some time.
Whether it’s just because of the inclusion of the banned symbol or fear that modders could include it remains unknown. One image from German site Schnitterbericht reveals (near the bottom) a screenshot of a poster in the German version that includes a very faint swastika.
Activision is expected to make a full statement soon. They might contemplate abandoning a German localized version given the reduced dev head counts at Raven and Endrant.
