All these new updates will have ”long term effects” on gameplay says CCP, with numerous new strategies that can be used by the community. Now with the new and buffed Sovereignty system, player groups can now control the systems they occupy.
”Infrastructure hubs can be fitted with specialized modules to aid in flushing out hidden pirate ships, discovering more lucrative asteroid belts or even easing the discovery of elusive wormholes,” blurbed the official Dominion features list.
You can dust off those Doomsday Devices as well because they’re getting spruced up, along with capital ships. There’s new fleet tools, so players can ”contact and join corporate mining ops, fleet battles and patrols” much easier.
Tutorials for space exploration and advanced PvP, so you’ll know how to ”probe space for anomalies, hostile ships and hidden asteroid belts” without looking a total n00b. Those who want some PvP ”can learn the basics safely… well, relatively safely.”
Pirates now get their own special place in the EVE universe as the ”first of many pirate epic arcs arrive,” giving out assignments to ”the bold and the villainous.” Procedurally generated planets and starfields help add a whole new variety to the game boasts CCP.
The in-game mail system has been given an overhaul, with an in-game browser too that supports ”‘EVE-enabled’ sites created by the community.” Best of all it’s all free for EVE Online players, so check out the new Dominion trailer below.
