It’s still going on, aftershocks of Flagship Studios’ fall. Phil Shenk, co-founder of Flagship and Diablo 2 art director, formed the new Gravity Bear studio, and was eerily silent.
That is until now. Shenk also enlisted senior engineer Kevin Klemmick from Hellgate: London to join his space bear outfit. Their first official announcement is due ”in a few days.”
”It’s been a proverbial flurry of activity here in the past few weeks, as we ramp up to do our first “official” press announcement in a few days. There’s always that nervous anticipation before unveiling something significant, and I’m feeling it big time,” read the Gravity Bear dev blog.
”The whole team here has a lot of time, creativity, and labor invested in Gravity Bear, and I really feel in my bones that it’s about to pay off. We’ve accomplished a tremendous amount since we started just a little over a year ago…”
Their first project, which has been tested by ”friends and family” twittered the studio, will be launching for social platforms like Facebook. What it is exactly is unknown for now.
I suppose the only thing we can hope for are the words ‘Diablo’ and ‘like’ come with the planned announcement, because you can never have enough hack ‘n slash dungeon crawling.
The concept below is posted over on the Gravity Bear website - does it hint at their first title?
