Developer High Voltage is back and handling the sequel due this autumn. It carries on from the first game, adding more weapons and sprint!
“In the original, the core experience was fun but it did get repetitive,” admitted Josh Olson from developer High Voltage, on the Sega America Blog, reports MCV.
”We learned some great lessons from Conduit and feel we’re avoiding a lot our missteps in the first title.” New features coming to The Conduit 2 include four-player co-op, more multiplayer maps, the ability to sprint and over 20 weapons.
”New weapons, maps, and game modes are no-brainers – but we’ve additionally spent a lot of extra attention on making the experience more rewarding and nuanced for players,” said Olson, talking about the new multiplayer experience.
”A class system is in place where you can set distinct weapon load-outs to include suit upgrades (perks). Weapon sets are a thing of the past. We’ve added a sprint button. Teammates can be revived.”
”In addition to the level rank and ELO matchmaking systems, we have an additional currency system that lets you purchase upgrades, be they weapon and suit upgrades, or different armor pieces to customize your character’s look.”
That last bit sounds a little like what Bungie has planned for Halo: Reach, allowing gamers to earn currency that can be spent upgrading the aesthetics of their Spartan. Do you like a game that lets you earn in-game currency to kit out your guy? Lots do it now.
The Conduit 2 releases exclusively on Wii this autumn.
