Studio boss Randy Pitchford also confirms they’ve got more Brothers in Arms plans for the future, and they’ll revisit Baker and his guys. Excellent.
During their Gearbox panel at PAX in Seattle, the studio revealed Borderlands would be bumping its level cap to 69 and gets a total rebalance overhaul to coincide with the launch of the latest premium DLC release of Claptrap’s Revolution out September 28th.
Brothers in Arms was Gearbox’s first original IP creation and they aren’t giving it the cold shoulder despite Aliens: Colonial Marines, Duke Nukem Forever and Borderlands all in the pipe. ”We’re not announcing anything today, but we want to tell you guys that we really care about this franchise a lot,” said co-founder Brian Martel.
”It’s something we created and it really means a lot to us. It’s not just a game about the combat. It’s about the soldiers in the war. We’ll deal with Baker and his men in future games for sure.” He added: ”But we also may do some other things that maybe treat the game in some different ways and take some different directions.” BiA modern warfare?
Free stuff for any game is great news and fans of Borderlands will enjoy another 8 levels to grind through I’m sure. Brothers in Arms has sure been quiet for a long time and it’s a shame Gearbox has nothing to show us right now but then they have saved the Duke.
