It will be using controls like that in EA’s Skate where the right analogue performs tricks, in fact much of the Skate team is behind the new SSX.
Earlier in the year EA registered new domains for SSX revealing potential title names as ‘SSX Deadly Descent’ and/or ‘SSX First Descent’. A survey went out before then to try and gauge fans of the series on a few new feature ideas.
The survey described the unnamed snowboarding project as ”an intense, moment-to-moment battle against the forces created from riding your snowboard over the most spectacular and remote mountains on Earth.” It teased gameplay too…
We’d be ”avoiding, out-running and even riding on top of massive avalanches; battling hurricane winds; white-outs; bitter cold; falling rocks; and gaping crevasses that open up at a moment’s notice.” We would even get special tasks to complete.
More of the new stuff would have us ”take part in helicopter drops and rescues, base-jumping, wingsuit/squirrel-suit flying, skyboarding, para-skiing, ice-climbing and more.” A VGA teaser had something that’s been dubbed ‘The Planet’ - is this SSX?
Of course the survey shouldn’t be taken for granted. Should SSX return?
