That means TopWare will be publishing it themselves in the UK January 25th, as they take the ”weight off” SouthPeak. It’s already past 1m sales in Europe.
After three weeks on European shelves Two Worlds II has surpassed a million sales which is fantastic news for this ”major turnaround sequel”. The first game was panned critically for poor execution in almost everything it did, or tried to do.
”Contrary to an earlier December press release in Europe by TopWare’s publishing partner: South Peak Games, has relinquished distribution rights in Ireland and the UK to TopWare in order to focus on their North American marketing campaign,” said TopWare.
”The rights were not purchased back by TopWare, as was previously reported.” SouthPeak ruffled TopWare feathers when they said Two Worlds II was being delayed in the US and UK because it ‘needed more time’. They later clarified that they actually meant to say they wanted to avoid seeing TWII get squashed in the busy Holiday period.
”Both TopWare and South Peak want our game to get the attention it deserves. South Peak wants to give the North American market 100% of their attention, and we’re happy we were able to take some of the weight off their shoulders,” said James Seaman
”Two Worlds II really is a labor of love, and after seeing how far the game has come, the fans are going to be blown away in January!” TopWare will be opening an office in the UK within the next 6 months to support press and ”all of the retail community”.
