DFC Intelligence estimates Mass Effect 2 from BioWare moved 1.1m units, compared with its closest competitor, Army of Two, at just 175k.
The 40th Day, also from publisher EA, just couldn’t cut it. Capcom’s Dark Void pulled in 22,000 with THQ’s Darksiders at 150k say DFC.
These figures are all from DFC Intelligence for Xbox 360 in the U.S. during the January period, reports Industry Gamers. Modern Warfare 2 took a noticeable hit to its audience with Mass Effect 2’s arrival on the scene.
Here are January’s offerings:
Mass Effect 2: 1,100,000
Army of Two: The 40th Day: 175,000
Bayonetta: 170,000
Blood Bowl: 9,000
Dark Void: 22,000
Darksiders: 150,000
Divinity 2: Eco Draconis: 25,000
Vancouver 2010: 8,000
See below for a pretty graph, which clearly shows Mass Effect 2 took some bites out of Modern Warfare 2’s playtime, before dipping itself.
