The latest news from the space-based MMO reports that one player, Solarius, was the victim of a highly coordinated suicide attack in high-security space (A.k.a. the safe bit).
Solarius was in a highly pimped up Paladin-class vessel, which was reportedly worth around 33.5 billion (in-game currency), when the incident occurred.
The attackers, comprising of capsuleers from five different corporations, stalked Solarius for two days before finally striking and splitting the loot.
Whilst the game’s AI-controlled ‘police’ did intervene, they were too late to save Solarius’ ship.
Solarius himself made light of the loss: ”A drop in the ocean! That fit had netted me plenty of ISK durin’ the time I had it. I could refit a Paladin to exactly the same spec if I wanted,” he said.
Fun times, eh? EVE Online will be getting it’s 14th major update, Incursion, next month.
(Btw, the title is a Monty Python reference.)
