Microsoft cites NPD hardware numbers which reveal their Xbox 360 console has once again held the lead in US sales, which makes this the 4th month.
Xbox 360 sold 484k units in September, up 37% from Sept. ‘09 and topping August’s 356,700. Their performance is a ”stark comparison” to rivals.
”As the Xbox 360 business heads into the homestretch of its biggest year ever, there are strong signs of continued growth and momentum,” said Microsoft, pointing to the October 26th release of Fable III, and Call of Duty: Black Ops’ November 9th date.
”Pre-orders of Kinect for Xbox 360 are selling out at retailers nationwide - a sign of strong consumer demand before launch on November 4,” they added. Yes the corporate giant is a very happy bunny which is why they’re pleased to dish out NPD’s figures.
Halo: Reach also sold 3.3 million copies in its launch month of September.
