North is a videogames voice actor, with Uncharted being his ”big break.” 2010 is no lazy year for him, he’s got plenty to say into the mic.
”Things started blowing up when I did Uncharted,” North tells GamePro. ”My all day is probably 4-hour days,” he continued, and it lets him ”be a dad and husband more than most people.” This is all still rather new to North though, having hit it big in 2007.
This year will see him voicing work for Assassin’s Creed 2, and most likely the next Uncharted instalment as Nathan Drake, which Naughty Dog has no intention of letting fade into memory. North’s most recent works include inFamous, God of War, Halo, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed II and of course Uncharted 2.
”I feel terrible for Brad Pitt. The anonymity of voice over is one the biggest advantages of the job. You make a great living, support your family, and nobody’s going to bother you.” He was nominated alongside Mark Hamill and Jack Black for Best Voice at the Spike Video Game Awards last year. North used to be just an actor, with a soap opera part.
”I’m constantly waiting to be found out; for someone to say, ‘Jig’s up! You’re having too much fun!’ If they don’t figure it out, I’m putting ‘He got away with it’ on my tombstone,” he joked. What’s great is that confirmation of a third Uncharted is practically here. The GamePro interview is a great read, so be sure to give some attention.
