It seems that PSN Pass will be here to stay, and will be used for all of Sony’s major AAA titles, as Sony Spain software manager Juan Jimenez told Spanish site The Vault that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will be using it.
PSN Pass is a feature similar to EA Sports Pass in which the player must enter a one-time-use cold to access content and multiplayer on PSN. Otherwise, the gamer must pay an extra $10, which is problematic for used game purchasers. Jimenez also claims that the Pass is effective against piracy.
Uncharted 3 is the second first-party title Sony has utilized the PSN Pass with - it debuted with Resistance 3. Expect the pass for all of Sony’s future major releases.
