Stardock has announced a new bundle, Galactic Civilizations II Ultimate Edition, which will be released on Steam and GameStop’s freshly acquired Impulse, and includes the original game as well as the Dark Avatar and Twilight of the Arnor expansions.
The bundle combines the latest improvements into a single package, including the campaigns from each game, while allowing players to design their own interstellar vessels from how they look, to weapons, shields and much more. Gamers can play in galaxies ranging in size from a dozen stars to many hundreds, while customizing their opponents by creating their own unique enemy civilizations. Players can also sabotage enemies by hiring secret agents to infiltrate behind rival territory. The game features unique technology trees for each of the 12 included civilizations, as well.
Stardock had recently announced that it would be bringing its games to Steam, whereas they were restricted to Impulse when Stardock was the sole owner of the digital distributor. GameStop’s purchase of Impulse removed the conflict-of-interest barrier to releasing games on Steam.
