Publisher Capcom’s fiscal year report is out and things are great, no really they are. Sales were up 46% from the previous year, and profit leapfrogged 258%.
That means $96 million got pocketed. PSP’s Monster Hunter Freedom 3 ”played the lead role” for Capcom’s success, shipping a mighty 4.6m copies in just Japan.
In fact the latest Monster Hunter was the ”fastest selling” game in the PSP’s history claims Capcom. Dead Rising 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds sold more than 2 million copies at 2.2m and 2m respectively.
Super Street Fighter IV got 1.6m, Lost Planet 2 managed 1.5m. ”The result was a history-making milestone of five million-seller titles in total,” said a very happy Capcom. Their biggest project to date is due next year called Dragon’s Dogma. Well done Capcom.
