The subscriber numbers for World of Warcraft have plummeted in the past few months, suffering a drop of 10%. The subscribership is now 10.3M active users, as opposed to 11.4M this past May.
The news was delivered in an investor call earlier today - Blizzard has attributed the drop to falling subscriber numbers in the East.
The developer will undoubtedly be counting on the announced Mists of Pandaria expansion to boost numbers in the same way that Cataclysm did in 2010.
Despite the drop in subscribers, Activision-Blizzard as a whole saw profits triple from $51M to $148M at this time of year from 2010 to 2011.
