After Far Cry 3’s scintillating debut at Ubisoft’s E3 press briefing, the publisher has revealed a few more details about the first person shooter sequel.
The game started development immediately after Far Cry 2 was launched. Lead narrative designer Jason Vandernberghe says the new gameworld has been in the works for a very long time. Far Cry 3 is also trying to recapture the tone and feel of the first game, though some of the fan favorites from Far Cry 2 will probably be retained, like digging out bullets with a knife.
Vandernberghe also stated with regards to hang gliders, “We can’t tell you about that, but it is a marquee feature. One of the things we heard from fans on Far Cry 2 was it was hard to get around, so we’re looking at new ways to fix that.”
Far Cry 3 will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime next year.
