Now it appears Iron Brigade will become the new name for the XBLA title worldwide in order to allow global multiplayer. A title update will make the change.
Double Fine’s Brad Muir explained that Trenched would drop its name when Iron Brigade releases in Europe this month, as otherwise it can’t enjoy worldwide online multiplayer due to the trademark dispute with a Portuguese board game by the same name.
A title update will make the change but will also add a survival mode to the African Hospital level, as well as new unlocks which include weapons, outfits and gestures. The studio plans to release some Iron Brigade DLC at a later date.
Trenched, or Iron Brigade, is a hybrid tower defense and third person shooter. It released on Xbox Live Arcade June 22nd in the US, and is out this month in Europe.
