Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities has announced that Rockstar’s critically acclaimed open world adventure game L.A. Noire sold 899,000 copies in the US during its debut month on sale, which far undersold the analyst’s expectation of at least one million sales.
One must imagine that the cost of developing the game over the last few years, including an innovative new technology for face motion capturing and extensive ad campaign, Rockstar was hoping for far more sales as well.
In contrast, Portal 2 has surpassed 2 million sales since its release.
